I am a firm believer in the Airplane Oxygen Mask Analogy. When the flight attendant gives instructions on the airplane before flight take off, they tell you if you are traveling with someone who may require assistance in the event oxygen is needed, be sure to put your own oxygen mask on first. How can you help others who may be depending on you, if you haven’t given your own body and self what it needs to survive? I am a momma, a wife, a daughter, a professional woman trying to make a difference in this world, and the list goes on. I spend my days striving to do more today for others than I did the day before. I love my days, and I love the busy life we lead—but I could not do it if I did not care for my own body and self, first. I have always been active—horseback rider, runner, athletic trainer in high school, regular gym goer, etc. But the day that I walked into my first CrossFit gym, my whole life changed. When that clock counts down, “3-2-1-GO” it is hands down the greatest in the world. Beast mode is turned on, and this average momma, wife, and peace builder is all in. It’s awesome and you're now ready to tackle the day—doing whatever it is that moves you. Give yourself 1.5 hour a day and feed your body right. Show up, every time—and you will see results not only in body, but most significantly in mind.
